MONEY OR CONTENT LIFE????

Hang on a second. Don’t make the unforgivable mistake of rushing to an answer. Your answer might just lead you to a never-ending debate with your friends or more dangerously, yourself. Both money and a content life are tremendously related to each other. Naturally, to lead a content life, you need lots of green paper.( I can sense a few raised eyebrows). But it’s not as simple as that, you see. Let’s scrutinize both sides of the coin.

Let’s   start with those who went for the ever-so-obvious answer of ‘A Happy Content Life’. This was obviously an impulsive choice (You definitely wouldn’t want to appear greedy by travelling down the other road). Some of you might have even answered it through the evergreen melodramatic question, ‘Can money buy happiness?’ But the bigger issue here is not your choice. The bigger issue is that is it the right one? If you truly believe in a happy content life, then you’ve seriously got to stop complaining about the evergreen 3 lakh TCS placement package. A content life implies that you’re satisfied, and it's human tendency that one you're satisfied, progress stops. So typically speaking, if your ancestors shared the same thoughts you do, then we definitely would still be covering ourselves with leaves (Goosebumps).

Now, lets flip the coin and look at the other side, the people who opted for money. As I write, I can imagine Amitabh Bachchan saying, ‘ Mere paas maa hai’. If you keep aside Mr. Bachchan’s brilliance in delivering the dialogue and just ponder over what he said, you will realize that money & content life are 180 degrees apart. If you’ve chosen money then you’re obviously ambitious (or over ambitious), which is definitely a good quality.

Most people will settle for the “Content life” answer because they know deep inside that their entire lives will be wasted running after money and yet they won’t have anything. It is this fear of failure, not money that has kept humankind from achieving miracles. But it all comes back to one basic question, that when push comes to shove, money won’t help you as much as the support of loved ones. After all Leo Tolstoy very rightly said, six feet from his head to his heels, is all the land a man requires after he is dead.

So, I think you’re now informed or clear minded enough to answer the title of this article. Go ahead, pick a choice but make sure you have enough points to defend yourselves!

The Bond Of Friendship!!!

We care, we fight, we rejoice, we smile , we’re angry sometimes but we know that they are one of our choices. Yes! They’re our friends. And this is what friendship is made up of, some special surprises, mixed emotions, teasing them, playing together, laughing and finally smiling while we remember all these wonderful memories. It is sometimes important to take your stand on any topic while going through a discussion but it is truly worthless to make it an issue, fight over it and simply lose your good friends just because of your ego!

Well according to me whenever there is such a situation where things heat up just take a second and think for a while that “Is it a big deal??”. Yap! “Is it a big deal fighting over some nonsense topic it could be science, politics, news or any event or it could be anything where you have to bear the loss of losing a friend even if you win the argument”. If you call it winning I must tell you that it was the biggest act of foolishness you could have done in your life.

Friends! We are not here to cry. We’re not here to fight. We’re not here to blame. We’re not here to be angry or miserable. But we’re here to find the purpose of our life and these are the things that keep pulling us down in life. On the other hand if we start living life enjoying it with peace and harmony, forgiving people not because they are good coz we are good, We’ll be seeing that life was always wonderful. And in fact, everyone here is good. It’s the time and the circumstances that make us feel they are bad. It’s very simple ‘The day we start seeing things from the other person’s perspective and just try to feel a bit of what they feel’ our life will change drastically.

Whenever you feel awkward about someone just start remembering those wonderful moments you spent with them or just write down their qualities which they have. Even if you’re going through some tough times, you’ll have to keep faith that all will turn well again and be the first one to shake hands throwing your ego aside and reunite. Because they are the ones after your parents who make your life really wonderful and give you those awesome moments due to which you feel glad that you are lucky  to have such wonderful people in your life!!!!!

I'm Counting More

I tried to bind...
All those feelings which I find...
I tried to throw...
All those things belongs to your endless flow
I tried to stop...
But that's kind of flop...
Its been a year...
And I'm counting more...

I don't know...
I don't want to know...
I just knew...
All the things that you use to do...
But let it go....
I don't want you more...
Its been a year...
And I'm counting more...

Mistake had been make...
It hell no heavens, just fake...
You love the game...
I love the player...
When I uncover the layer...
Its not you...
You disappear...

Its been a year since then...
I'm still counting more...

Outcast

After observing all kinds of people the sole thing one realizes is that man seems to be the best friend of money but vice versa is not true. There are just a few people who live not for luxury but for others happiness but they are often taken for granted and are tagged as people without aim.
Well I would like to ask others what their aim is? To make money?
This is what humanity has reduced to.
We live for riches but i guess our definition of richness is definitely wrong. For normal people being rich means having all the shiny "non living things" but what it really is, is having love, faith, peace.
Well, in the world of today love, peace etc etc sound like extinct species.
Knowns would readily call after results are declared just because they'll be glad to know the child has failed but they would never call before to ask whether some help is required.
People are happy watching others lose, they are happy watching others being distressed, they enjoy seeing others broken!
Dear people, happiness is not what is received watching others lose, it is what is gained by working hard and by making others feel happy!
Sometimes there comes this feeling of being surrounded by so many people but still there is not one you can choose to talk.
I wonder why is this so?
It is just like planting a sole tree in a garden. There are various breeds of beautiful flowers, plants, grass all around but there is no "one more" tree to accompany the one planted.
Same goes with us, we don't have the "our type" around us.
But a greater question is will we keep waiting all our lives to wait for the other tree?
Here comes the role of strength. Thinking negatively makes one weaker and working, whether in team or alone always gives strength.
The bitter truth although is that a weak person will always stay alone and shunned away. The power lies inside our own self. We know everyone is a bit selfish and so everyone would like to have near and dear ones of their own level or greater. No one cares if you're lonely or you need moral support or whatever it is. It is the person itself who will have to make himself shine out with no help.
Only then will people flock around but Still;if you're a good person, maybe there won't be anyone with whom you can be "soul happy."
Indeed this world is not for selfless people and the good if often outcast but here comes something to remember, that it is always the good that wins so hope can never be lost.

BEAUTY LIES WITHIN THE EYE OF OBSERVER!!

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley .A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or flaw in it. Yes!! They all agreed it truly was the most beautiful they had ever seen. The young man was very proud boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart .
Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said, “Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine”.

The crowd and the young man looked at the old man’s heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn’t fit quite right and they were several flagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing.

The people stared, how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they wandered?
The young man looked at the old man’s heart and saw its state and laughed.

“You must be fooling” he said. “Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears.”
“Yes” said the old man, “Yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you!!”
You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love, I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty space in my heart , but because the pieces aren’t exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared. “Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the person hasn’t returned a piece of his heart to me”.
These are the empty gouges- giving love is taking a chance.
Although these gauges are painful, they stay open reminding me of the love  I have for these people too…and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is???

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out giving it to the old man with trembling hands.
The old man took his offering and then took a piece from his old heart and placed it in the wound in the man’s heart.

It fits, but not perfectly, as there were some fogged edges the old man looked at his heart not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Late Night Thought!!!

Nothing in the world is real..
But everything here is beautiful.
And beauty always attracts
But I was lost in darkness..

Unaware about the world..
Inside  a dark room..
There were no lights to guide me..

But you came and ignited all the lights
And removed the darkness
And you gave a smile..
Smile … I can’t forget..
And the smile that never fades…..

Nothing in this world is real…
But I’m sure
Nothing in this world
Is more beautiful than you……

Wear your Best!!!

It's when the tides are high
 and the world seems apart.
You want to fight again
 but your heart screams hard.

Its then you are puzzled
 from alternatives you offered
Your mind and heart
strives to chose the best one
It's the time when
on your path stands none

Coz it's your road ,your destiny
and your own mission
You solely were sent here
to set the vision.

You finally chose your way
 on your own accord
You made mistakes but that
 fever gonna shake u for.

Coz it's you who after
night always rise
And you always gonna
wear your best for rest of your life!!!

One Life

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
-Mae West

Life is not always about having lots of achievements. Its about living, about doing the right things, about being oneself and much more.
We are often lost in our own ego and forget that happiness is indispensable. Realizing what to do and what not is really important. We just have a single life and if we waste it over petty issues we definitely will be in great loss, and this loss cannot be covered.
I can recall instances when I didn't talk to people I love for long time because I did not like something they did. Neither they approached me to apologize and nor did I but when I now look back, it wouldn't have mattered if I took the initiative and ignored to save the relation we held.
You might be wondering how easy is it to say such things and how difficult to implement. It is indeed very very difficult I must say. And sometimes it is about our self respect. But we must understand the difference. Trying for the first time does nothing to the self respect.
There are numerous things which try to knock us down but we can't just give up. Every individual possesses strength enough to defeat the demon. It resides in us. It's just when we give up and fail to realize what potential we hold does the evil get stronger.
Never should we behave with others in a way we wouldn't like for ourselves. Being mean and ignorant takes a toll on our energy and the extent to which it hurts others is immeasurable.
Even the universe says "You're good to me, I'll do anything for you and if you aren't; sorry I guess you forgot, the devil resides in me too."
Sweetness should definitely not be fake but we should be so real and content that we never need to be harsh.

There will be times when you'll feel how true and humble you had been but still you were rejected and thrown for no fault of yours. You will feel the never ending heartache, praying hard for things to get as they were. And then will come a time when you will come to know that all that happened was nothing in front of what you have now received. There are always little hurdles in every path. Sometimes they are too big but won't it get boring if you keep walking in a straight line always and never get to encounter anything else than joy?
The universe is a symmetrical 'little' thing. One will tend to experience hurt and joy in equal amounts but it's our own attitude as to what we think how our life is. We can make the happy times too happy to cover up the sad ones or vice versa.
We are the poets and we are free to frame the verses of our life. It can be a jovial one or even a melancholic one. We are the masters of our own existence and there is nothing that can stop us because the potential to do things lies in our soul. We can put our best foot forward or we can even put it back.
Every spice has it's own taste and you certainly won't like if they are all sweet....
“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

MOVIES AND VETERANS

     PARALLEL CINEMA
(JOURNEY OF INDIAN CINEMA FROM BIRTH TILL 1960S)

I would just like to add a disclaimer before I give my perspective about Indian Cinema.

Disclaimer:Whatever is written are the views of the author and they don't intend to hurt the feelings of anyone. If anyone feels offended, then we can't help it.

So,here I go.

Indian cinema is something that has entered its century year and is entertaining us till now even in 2015.A lot has changed since 1913 when Father Of Indian Cinema Dada Saheb Phalke made the first movie RAJA HARISHCHANDRA.

This change has been due to a lot of pathbreaking factors like;1)Advancement in technology which has improved the  special effects, digital sound ,cinematogarphy, screenplay.Technology with its onset changed the face of  Indian music.2)New instruments like electric guitars, better studios with sound absorbing ability were introduced.Technology has improved in such a way that now a person enjoys the music  even without trying to understand what lyrics are conveying. But keeping these things aside, technology has really helped in the progress of cinema.

Now,I'll come back to the topic which has generated a deep interest in me and that is
CLASSIFICATION OF INDIAN CINEMA

When I talk about classification, the movies which were made in the early years of  Indian cinema were similar as far as story is concerned.I'm talking about the movies made in 1930s and 40s.
Most of these movies were either based on mythology and or on the life of  a peasant troubled by the society or the cruel landlord. The setting of these movies were mostly rural and topics which were mostly dealt in these movies were poverty, clashing clans against the union of two love birds, peasant misery tales and above all mythology.

The movies which were made in 1950s and 1960s were some what better as now stories were more diverse and now we could easily see two kind of cinemas-1)Parallel & 2)Commercial cinema.
Parallel cinema focused more on harsh reality and bitter truth about the events taking place in the society.Earliest attempts on Parallel cinema was done by renowned filmmaker V.Shantaram in his movie DUNIYA NA MANE which focuses on the harsh treatment a women faces by the hands of our society. The period of 1950s to 1960s is considered a golden period of the Parallel cinema ,this was the period in when the acclaimed filmmakers like Satyajeet Ray,Ritwik Ghatak,Bimal Roy,Chetan Anand,Guru Dutt and Tapan Sinha first entered the film scene.During this period,Satyajeet Ray made a series of 3 films which later came to be known by the name APU TRIOLOGY (Pather Panchali,Aparajito and Apursansar). These movies dealt with a life of boy Apu.The first of this triology Pather Panchali depicts the life of Apu in a respectable high class yet poor family. His father has a tough time in supporting the family and the movie ends with family moving to sacred city of Benares after the death of his sister.Aparajito is the 2nd movie which forms the core of this triology. In this one,Apu's father dies after a big struggle with the never ending poverty and he along with his mother moves back to a village in Bengal where Apu starts his formal studies.Inspite of  not being in the best of financial health,he emerges as a bright student and at the end of this movie his mother dies.In Apursansar,he's made to marry a girl who has refused his to be mentally unstable bridegroom. His love life blossoms but then tragedy strucks gold when his wife dies during child labour. He abandons his child due to frustrations and his ill fate, but soon realises his mistake and comes back after realising his responsibilities towards his child. This trilogy fetched Satyajit Ray a lot of awards at Venice film festival.

THE PROFILIC FILM MAKER

Tapan Sinha also made highly acclaimed APNAJAN,a Bengali movie which was later adapted by Gulzar in Hindi as Mere Apne.

THE PERSON WHO GAVE GULZAR A STORY TO START HIS DIRECTORIAL DEBUT

Ritwik Ghatak scripted MADHUMATI and made a big contribution in Bengali Cinema.

Rajiv Masand doesn't stand a chance against Ritwik Ghatak as he was the best Indian movie critic.

Guru Dutt was one of the most celebrated filmmakers of Hindi cinema.
He directed classics like BAAZI,PYAASA and SAAHIB BIWI AUR GHULAM and produced great films chief among which are CID and CHAUDHAVI KA CHAND.

HE DIED YOUNG BUT HIS CONTRIBUTION WAS TOO GREAT WHICH MAKES HIM COUNTRY'S MOST LOVED FILM MAKER
The person who was perfect in whatever he did, whether it was acting or direction.
HOW COULD ANY1 FORGET THIS CLASSIC

Bimal Roy made classics like DO BHIGA ZAMEEN,PARINEETA,BAIJU BAWRA,SUJATA,PARAKH AND BANDINI.His MADHUMATI won 9 filmfare awards which was a record for 37 years until it was broken by DDLJ in 1995.
THE ONLY PESON WHO MADE THE BEST PARINEETA WAS BIMAL DA.
NO ONE WAS BETTER IN SHEKHAR'S ROLE THAN ASHOK KUMAR SAHAB

Discovering Life!

It's nothing but a chase,
You and a billion people,
All in a race
Scattered minds looking
For their location
Millions of people,
Searching their destination.

Is that what we want,
Or are we lost somewhere?
Is someone ready to grab our hand,
And help us out there

If you ask me,
What I want,
I would answer,
To Be with nature's bond

I'd choose to stay a night,
At the ground,
Looking at stars,
Or perhaps I'd love to,
Travel somewhere far

I'd go on a mountain,
Or perhaps sing and dance In the rain,
And then I might be able to,
Connect to world's chain.

I'd want to explore new places,
Some more new faces.
There's a lot to do,
And our heart knows.
But we prefer listening our mind,
Making our ways gloomy,
And our actual dreams, hard to find.

Earth's Biggest Volcano Discovered !!!

“On the floor of the Pacific Ocean lies a giant that has been sleeping for 145 million years.”

William Sager’s 20-year hunch has paid off in a very big way.

In September, the University of Houston geophysicist and his team announced that Tamu Massif, an underwater volcano about a third of the way from Japan to Hawaii, is by far the largest volcano on the planet.

For two decades, using sonar and other undersea mapping methods, Sager has been studying an oceanic plateau in the northwestern Pacific called Shatsky Rise. Over several expeditions, he began to suspect that the subtly dome-shaped formation at Shatsky’s south end, which he named Tamu Massif, might be an enormous volcano.

To confirm his theory, Sager’s team drilled core samples and bounced seismic waves through Tamu’s layers to determine its composition. They discovered Tamu’s 120,000 square miles were made of massive lava sheets, up to 75 feet thick that had erupted from a single summit about 145 million years ago.

In square miles, Tamu Massif is larger than Arizona. Its single summit dwarfs multi-volcano complexes, also known as composite volcanoes, on Hawaii and Iceland. With 75 percent of the volume of Mars’ gigantic Olympus Mons, Tamu ranks as the second-largest known volcano in the solar system.

Sager believes it’s possible that we may one day find even greater volcanic giants beneath the waves. For now, however, he is savoring a sweet moment 20 years in the making.

“As scientists, we spend our lives doing research,” says Sager. “We get maybe one moment when we can make people look up from their smartphones and be reminded of the wonder in the world.”
