Was banning the bbc documentary righteous?

The very recent issue regarding the Nirbhaya documentary has become a                      crucial topic of discussion among the Indian people. Was this ban righteous                  or not?

According to me, this decision was undeniably not a right one.
This documentary, a delineation  of the mentality of the Indian men was                       something which would have been actually made open for everyone to                           watch. Banning the documentary just depicted that the government was                         trying to suppress this affair, and not just this one but thousands of other                        such cases. This is something which would provoke many other men to                          perform such hideous crimes.

What an irony! Such people are free to speak out anything and everything                      and still, no great action is taken against them.
Releasing this documentary would have surely created chaos in our country                   but this is something which is required. We need to throw light on these                         matters and question people on what they believe and why do they think so!

Everyday such incidents take place and just because of this kind of mind set                  are they subdued. Maybe our government is in no mood of putting up these                  topics and taking pain in discussing them but I guess it would be better if they              pay some heed to them. We talk of women empowerment and what not but                  when comes the question of improving the society, there is no one interested                to put themselves forward. We need to put an end to these practices but until                and unless we don't showcase these things, how can we find an apt solution to              this grave problem.
